WhatsApp Business subscription plan with extended multi-device support under works

21 April 2022 0

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a subscription plan for its business users. The report is coming from WABetaInfo, an online publication with pretty accurate related to under-development and beta testing WhatsApp features. It says that the paid plan will give users extended multi-device support among other benefits.

It was towards the end of 2021 when WhatsApp rolled out multi-device support, a highly requested feature and something that has been available on the rival Telegram for years. It lets users link their WhatsApp accounts with up to four devices and chat on any of them at any time. With the subscription plan, WhatsApp Business users will be able to link accounts with up to 10 devices.

The report shared a screenshot showing the new Linked Devices interface. It mentions Linked devices for businesses and explains the feature as, "Add multiple devices to your account so different people in your business can all talk to a customer in the same chat." This will provide flexibility to business users when it comes to interacting with customers.

The above-shown screenshot is taken from an iOS device but it goes without saying that the paid plan and feature will be available on Android as well. The report adds that the plan will offer many other benefits as well but those are unknown as of now. And yes, the subscription plan will be optional and user experience will not change in any way if someone does not buy it.
