Xiaomi's selfie-camera-focused and China-exclusive smartphone series Civi has received a new model. The Civi 1S has been made official as a slightly improved version of the Civi from last year. The new offering comes with a better processor and new software experience as part of the upgrades.
The Civi 1S sports a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) OLED curved display with a centered punch-hole. The panel supports up to 120Hz refresh rate, up to 240Hz touch sampling rate, 950nits of peak brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and DCI-P3 color gamut support. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor with Adreno 642L GPU.
The phone has three configuration variants: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. The triple camera setup on the back includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The phone has a 32-megapixel front camera for taking selfies and attending video calls.
The whole package is powered by a 4,500mAh battery and supports 55W fast charging. The phone will boot MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. Other noteworthy features include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and WiFi 6 but there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
Xiaomi has priced the Civi 1S at CNY 2,299 (about $355) for the 8GB/128GB base model. The other two configuration variants 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB will cost you CNY 2,599 (about $405) and CNY 2,899 (about $450) respectively. The color options are Black, White, Pink, and Blue with pre-orders already live in China.
