Microsoft is getting aggressive with its plans to expand Xbox's coverage around the globe. The latest VentureBeat report claims that the company has an Xbox streaming stick and a Samsung smart TV app in development. Both of these offerings are expected to get officially within the next 12 months or so.
Xbox streaming stick will be a device similar to Amazon's Fire TV Stick or Roku's offering. It can be plugged into the TV for accessing a wide range of content. It will have movies and TV shows streaming but will also offer the library of games available via the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It will be like a single device for all the entertainment needs of users.
It is reported that Samsung TV users may not need to rely on the stick for streaming Xbox games. This is because Microsoft is collaborating with Samsung to develop a native Xbox streaming smart TV app. This app will bring support for streaming games without the need for buying dedicated hardware or any other software/workaround.
Both of these new offerings from the company are expected to make their debut sometime in the next 12 months. The idea behind the move is to ensure that as many users as possible can join the Xbox ecosystem. The ability to stream games using an app or a stick device will surely entice those gamers who cannot buy an Xbox console. There are no words on the pricing yet but we will keep you updated as more information will appear.
