Google has taken wraps off the Pixel 6a, its newest affordable mid-range Pixel smartphone. It is meant to deliver the signature Pixel experience for a price that is easier on the pocket. The phone will succeed the Pixel 5a that debuted last year. The good thing is that the phone will indeed arrive in India this time around.
The Pixel 6a sports a 6.1-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The panel has a punch hole in the center and support for Always on Display but no high refresh rate. The choice of processor is Google's own Tensor chip that debuted with the Pixel 6 series. It will be available in a single configuration of 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage.
The phone has dual rear cameras featuring a 12.2-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with phase detection autofocus. The front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor housed inside the punch-hole. It comes with camera features like Night Sight, Magic Eraser, and Real Tone to improve your photos.
The whole package is powered by a 4,410mAh battery. It will ship with Android 12 with a promise of at least 5 years of security updates. Other features include stereo speakers, the Titan M2 security chip, IP67 rating, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Google has priced the Pixel 6a at $449 for the sole 6GB/128GB model. It will go on pre-orders from July 21st with sales beginning July 28th. The color options include Sage, Chalk, and Charcoal.
