Apple Music has various subscription plans that cater to different audience types and at different price points. One such plan is the Student plan where university students get access to the service at half the price. The discount is in comparison to the Individual plan pricing. A new Mac Rumors report has revealed that Apple has now increased Apple Music Student plan prices across various countries.
Apple is yet to make a formal announcement regarding the decision but a few existing subscribers have started receiving emails from the company. The mail content mentions that their subscription prices will increase slightly moving forward. The report claims that price change is effective in Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Indonesia, Israel, and Kenya but is not limited to these countries.
The Apple Music Student plan costs $1.99 per month instead of $1.49 per month in South Africa. If you are from India, the price has increased from INR 49 per month to INR 59 per month. It is expected to receive a similar increment in other regions but exact pricing may vary depending on where you live.
It seems like United States pricing has not been changed and is still at the same price of $4.99 per month. It is unknown if it will stay unchanged or if we will see a difference in the coming days. For the uninitiated ones, Apple does not restrict any of the Apple Music features in exchange for the discounted pricing.
