Instagram Reels gets '1 Minute Music' tracks in India

27 May 2022 0

Instagram has announced 1 Minute Tracks for Reels in India. The feature is a collection of 1-minute video clips from songs of various Indian artists. These clips can be used for creating Reels as well as for adding to Stories. The announcement mentions that the collection is exclusively available for Instagram users.

1 Minute Tracks features tracks from over 200 musicians including the likes of Dhvani Bhanushali, Neeti Mohan, Shaan, Himanshi Khurana, Aniruth, and GV Prakaash Kumar. Instagram says this will inspire other artists to release their music videos' 1-minute clips on the platform. This will eventually help creators to use these tracks in their Reels and make them more entertaining.

Some of these newly added tracks have already started to become available for users. These can be accessed via the audio gallery of Reels. The process is similar to how you add any other song to Story or Reels. All available tracks in the collection should become accessible in the coming days.

Paras Sharma, Director, Content and Community Partnerships, Facebook India (Meta) said:

“Music is a catalyst for trends on Instagram today. With ‘1 Minute Music’, we’re now giving people access to an exclusive set of tracks they could use to make their reels more entertaining. We’re also hoping this platform serves as a paradigm for established and emerging artists to share their own music, and create their own videos, all on Reels.”

In other news, Instagram recently bumped the Reels time limit to 90-seconds. This is an increment of half a minute over the previous limit of just 60 seconds. It wants to give users more time so that they can be more flexible with the content they want to make. A creator can now choose from 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, and 90 seconds time limit options.
