30 May 2022 0

Hardware manufacturers across different categories have been affected significantly due to the global pandemic. They have not been able to produce products to their maximum capacities. Samsung is no different as it is also struggling with phone production since the beginning of the pandemic.

A new report claims that Samsung has now decided to cut down phone production by 30 million units for this year. It is said to have set an original target of 310 million units but has now changed it to 280 million. The report adds that the South Korean tech giant has not hit the 300 million units mark since 2017.

The company is said to be reducing production numbers across all price segments. These include devices ranging from budget segment to premium flagships. The demand for phones has also gone down in these years which is due to the effect on the economic situation around the globe.

Apple is another tech giant which is facing the heat due to the global pandemic. It has primarily cut down on iPhone SE production which has been reduced by as much as 20%. It is hard to say when will the market get back to normal and we would start seeing these companies produce more phones.
