Meta's Messenger is one of the leading instant messaging applications out there. It is used widely not only for sending messages but also for audio and video calls. The company claims to have seen a 40% surge in the number of daily callers as compared to 2020. There are now 300 million audio and video calls on a daily basis which is the reason, Meta is making an important change to the app's user interface.
Messenger app has now received a dedicated Calls tab, similar to how it is on WhatsApp. It is meant to give users a quick way of accessing the calling feature of the app. This will not only help existing callers on Messenger but is also expected to encourage more users to utilize the app as their preferred calling app.
The tab will work as a single place to check your calling history on Messenger. It will show incoming and outgoing call logs for both audio and video calls. There is a plus icon in the top right corner to start a new call. It will show a search bar at the top where you can search for contacts. The tab will also show suggested contacts for a new call.
Messenger's new Calls tab will be available on both Android and iOS devices. If you are not seeing the change already, make sure that you are using the latest version of the app.
