Samsung is the leading OEM in the foldable market with Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 being the best-sellers. This is not surprising as both of these are among the best foldable devices. These are packed with high-end features and specs but as a result, they also cost a premium to own. The two foldable phones were launched at $1,799 and $999 respectively for the base configuration.
This is the reason not everyone can afford any of the two Samsung foldable even if they want to. It is now time for a new leak claiming that Samsung has plans for an affordable foldable. The leak is coming from a Twitter-based tipster @chunvn8888 who claims the foldable to be a part of the Galaxy A series.
Not happening that soon tho, 2024-2025. At least that's when Samsung aiming to release... https://t.co/qQbwgAff5Y— No name (@chunvn8888) June 4, 2022
It means we will eventually have two different lineups of foldable: Galaxy Z and Galaxy A. The first one will be focused on premium foldable with everything top of the line that Samsung will have to offer. The second will be meant for foldable fans with a tight budget. We will likely see high-end and new features trickle down to budget foldable in future generations.
While the development does look enticing, the tipster claims an affordable Galaxy foldable is not happening anytime soon. It is claimed that Samsung is aiming for a release sometime in 2024 or 2025. It means we are still at least three years before we can see a cheaper foldable from the South Korean tech giant. However, we know that things can change anytime and Samsung may decide to release it sooner.
