WhatsApp keeps refining privacy settings on its app to ensure that users feel safe while chatting with others. It has made changes to Profile Photo, About, and Last Seen status privacy settings. The official announcement tweet mentions that these changes are meant to give users better control over with whom they want to share these private details.
The change essentially includes an extra option alongside the existing Everyone, Your contacts, and Hidden. The newly added option is My contacts except.. which is similar to what it is for statuses on the app. It will let users create a list of contacts with whom they do not want to share their profile picture, about, and last seen status. These details will then be visible to only those contacts who are not part of this list.
