Nothing Phone 1 will initially sell via invite-only system

23 June 2022 0

With every passing day, we have something new to talk about the much anticipated Nothing Phone 1. Nothing has been revealing details one at a time to keep the buzz alive. It has now shared a video clip that talks about the smartphone's manufacturing and design process. The same clip also reveals that the Nothing Phone 1 will be sold via invite-only method in the beginning.

This is not something new for Carl Pei, CEO and co-founder of Nothing, as he has opted for the same approach during the start of his previous company OnePlus. It means only those people will be able to purchase the Nothing Phone 1 who will have an invite for it. The number of invites will be in limited quantity but these will increase with time as the company will start producing more and more units.

There is no doubt that acquiring an invite will not be an easy task. This will make it harder to purchase the phone but will also work as a way to keep the smartphone in news for a longer period of time. It will also give Nothing to time to increase the capacity without worrying about the demand too much.

Pei says invite-system will also allow them to sell the Nothing Phone 1 as the stock will become available off the line. Otherwise, they would have had to wait for enough quantities and then sell them. Invites will likely be given to early adopters and community members in the beginning but we do not know for sure. As and when the company will share invite system details, we will keep you posted.

In the meantime, you can watch the latest video shared by Nothing. Pei can be heard talking about the invite system towards the end of the video:
