Qualcomm may launch Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on November 14

27 June 2022 1

Qualcomm's current generation of flagship chipsets includes Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The first one was released last year and we are getting closer to the refresh launch timeline. It seems like we finally have an idea of the date when the next-gen flagship processor i.e. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be unveiled.

As confirmed officially, Qualcomm will hold this year's Snapdragon Summit from November 14th to November 17th. It means we are just four months away from the annual summit. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will likely launch on the first day of the keynote. It is traditionally when we get to see announcements about a new processor.

It should be noted that the official source only talks about the summit dates. It does not specify if we will actually get to see an announcement about a new processor. It will power Android flagship smartphones that will release by the end of this year and all phones from 2023. It is speculated that Xiaomi's flagship will be the phone that will mark its commercial debut.

The alleged Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is tipped to be an octa-core processor based on the 4nm manufacturing process. There will likely be CPU and GPU performance improvements. We do not know much about the processor but we can expect details to emerge as we will get close to the release. We will keep you posted as leaks and reports will surface online.
