Xiaomi has launched a new affordable mid-ranger Xiaomi 12 Lite in China. It joins the Xiaomi 12S series that went official just last week. The phone itself is a direct successor to the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE from the last year. Many of the specifications are still the same but there are a few differences as well.
The Xiaomi 12 Lite sports a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED punch-hole display. The panel supports up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 402PPI pixel density. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5, a peak brightness of 950 nits, Reading Mode 3.0, and 100% sRGB/DCI-P3 color gamut support.
Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor with Adreno 642L GPU. There are three configuration variants featuring up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. The phone has triple rear cameras headlined by 108-megapixel wide-angle sensor with a 6P lens. It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera (under display) on the phone is a 32-megapixel sensor with f/2.45 aperture.
The whole package is powered by a 4,300mAh battery with 67W Turbo fast charging support. The good thing is that Xiaomi bundles the phone with a 67W charger. The phone will boot MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. The Xiaomi 12 Lite is priced at $400 for the 6GB/128GB base model. The cost for 8GB/128GB is set at $450 and for 8GB/256GB at $500. It is available for pre-orders in China with an option to choose from Pink, Green, and Black color options.
