Amazon has announced that it is rolling out a new Prime Video redesign over the week. This is the biggest major design overhaul of the streaming platform in years. The change is aimed to bring the user experience to the same level as many of its competitors like Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu. The rollout is coming to a wide range of devices and platforms.
The first thing that you will notice is a user-friendly and simplified navigation menu. It puts all the menu options on the left sidebar which include Search, Home, Store, Find, Live TV, Free with Ads, and My Stuff. There will also be sub-navigation options like movies, TV shows, sports, and channels for finding content more easily.
The redesign will have new carousels that will highlight featured content available on Prime Video. These will have video previews and cinematic images. There will be Top 10 Chart listing popular and trending content. It will also have a Super Carousel that will highlight content like Amazon Originals and Exclusives.
Amazon has also made it easier to check whether a particular title is available for stream, buying, or renting. All titles marked with a Blue check are included with your Prime membership. It will show a shopping bag next to titles available for purchase. The Prime Video redesign will first roll out to Fire TV and the Android app. It will then expand to iOS devices and the official website. It will also expand to Android TV, Google TV, Apple TV, and Roku.
