Motorola has confirmed its next launch event for August 2nd in China. It will take wraps off two new smartphones including a foldable at the event. The announcement was made via a Weibo post where it also teased a new Android skin upgrade. It will be called myui 4.0 and will bring noticeable improvements and changes.
Starting with the foldable, it will be the third Motorola release in the Razr lineup. There have already been various official teasers and rumors that give us an idea of what to expect. It is touted to be the first foldable from Motorola that will be packed with flagship-level specifications. It is expected to have bigger displays, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, dual rear cameras with LED flash, and a relatively smaller battery. Interestingly, Samsung will launch its next-gen foldable phones on August 10th.
The Moto X30 Pro will be another flagship smartphone from the company. The most interesting aspect of the phone is that it will be the first phone featuring a 200-megapixel camera sensor. It will have three camera sensors featuring 85mm, 50mm, and 35mm aperture respectively. All other specs will also be on the flagship spectrum level like 144Hz OLED display, up to 12GB of RAM, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and 125W fast charging speed.
Lastly, myui 4.0 will be the latest custom Android skin iteration for Motorola users in China. It will offer new design and personalization features including a system-wide color palette. There will be a virtual mouse function and app cross-screen functionalities. We still have a few days ahead of the release date and we can expect to hear more details.
