Honor has debuted a new Android tablet named Honor Tablet 8 in China. It is a mid-range tablet aimed at delivering performance without any compromises. There is a big enough display that should result in an appreciable media consumption experience. The unique thing about the tablet is that it has a total of eight speakers which is an unusual choice for sure.
The Honor 8 Tablet sports a 12-inch IPS display with 2000 x 1200 pixels resolution. The panel has 350 nits of peak brightness and 195ppi pixel density. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor coupled with 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM. It has a single 128GB storage option which results in three configuration variants for buyers to choose from.
The tablet has a single 5-megapixel camera on the back and a single 5-megapixel camera on the front. This is not surprising considering the price point at which it has been launched. The whole package is powered by a 7,250mAh battery which is claimed to offer a standby time of 59 days. It will take about 2 hours to charge the tablet completely. It features a USB Type-C port and there is no cellular model.
The Honor Tablet 8 starts at CNY 1,499 (about $222) for the base 4GB/128GB model. The 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB models will cost you CNY 1,799 (about $266) and CNY 1,999 (about $295) respectively. It will be sold in Dawn Gold, Dawn Blue, and Mint Green color options.
