At the event where OnePlus launched the OnePlus 10T 5G, it also took wraps off the next Android skin version OxygenOS 13. It comes with a major redesign and new features to improve the user experience. The new skin is based on Android 13 which is the next major Android version and is under beta testing.
The new OxygenOS 13 design is inspired by nature, specifically water, and is officially called Aquamorphic. It will have app icons, widgets, and notification windows with round edges. The widgets, notification windows, and recent apps will have a floating animation that will make the UI feel smoother. The system color will also get darker as the day will pass.
The team also has made changes to the Always-on display functionality. OnePlus has added Spotify and Bitmoji integration to the Always-on display for improved functionality. The first one will allow users to control music playback without actually waking up the display. Other core features include Zen Mode, Nearby Share, and Fast Pair which have been improved on the new version.
OxygenOS 13 will bring AI System Booster, Smart Launcher, Sidebar Toolbox, Hyperboost Gaming Engine, Spatial Audio, and Private Safe 2.0. The new version will become available for the OnePlus 10 Pro first. It will also be released for the OnePlus 10T, OnePlus 10R, OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 9RT, OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T.
