Realme has introduced a new affordable 5G smartphone named Realme 9i 5G in India. It is the 5G version of the Realme 9i that debuted earlier this year. There are a few differences in the specifications and features of the two smartphones. The company has continued with the virtual RAM expansion feature on the 5G variant.

The Realme 9i 5G sports a 6.6-inch Full HD+ (2408 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with a punch-hole and 90Hz refresh rate. The choice of processor is MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G. There are two configuration variants: 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. It comes with Dynamic RAM Expansion which will allow users to extend RAM up to 11GB by utilizing up to 5GB of storage space as virtual RAM.

The phone has triple cameras on the back headlined by a 50-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture. It is accompanied by a 2-megapixel macro camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is an 8-megapixel sensor housed within the punch-hole.

There is a 5,000mAh battery to keep lights on and supports 18W fast charging. The phone will boot Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12 out of the box. The Realme 9i 5G is priced at INR 14,999 (about $188) for the 4GB/64GB model and at INR 16,999 (about $215) for the 6GB/128GB model. It is available in Rocking Blue and Metallica Gold color options.
