Motorola has become one of the busiest OEMs when it comes to launching new products. It announced Razr (2022) foldable, the world's first 200-megapixel camera smartphone, and an Android tablet just last week. It has now taken wraps off a new Edge-series mid-ranger named Edge 2022. It is the third-generation smartphone in the lineup and comes with 5G connectivity.
The Moto Edge (2022) sports a 6.6-inch Full HD+ OLED 10-bit display with a punch-hole and 144Hz refresh rate. It is the first smartphone to feature MediaTek's Dimensity 1050 processor. It is a 6nm mid-range chipset featuring two Cortex-A78 cores, six Cortex-A55 cores, Mali-G610 MC3 GPU, and mmWave 5G support. Its configuration variants are 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.
The phone has a vertically-aligned triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS), and omnidirectional phase detection autofocus. It is accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera on the phone is a 32-megapixel sensor with f/2.45 aperture.
The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 30W wired fast charging support. It is also compatible with 15W wireless fast charging and 5W reverse wireless charging. Other features include a USB Type-C port, IP52 rating, Dolby Atmos-certified stereo speakers, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and WiFi 6E. It will boot Android 12 out of the box and is promised to receive at least three major software upgrades.
The Moto Edge (2022) unlocked is available for $499.99 via Motorola's official website, Amazon, and Best Buy. It will cost you $498 if purchased via T-Mobile in the United States. These are introductory pricing for a limited time after which the phone will go on sale for $599.99.
