It has been a month since Nothing launched its first-ever smartphone Nothing Phone 1. The phone has managed to receive positive feedback so far and even though there were a few issues, the team has issued software updates to fix them. This brings us to the question what about the Android 13 upgrade? We finally have an answer to the question and it is not a pleasing one.
Nothing has officially confirmed that the Nothing Phone 1 Android 13 update will arrive in the first half of 2023. This is disappointing news for users who were expecting the release by the end of this year. It has been revealed that only a beta build will be made available within this year.
Here is the official statement shared by the company:
"We are always working hard to improve the Phone 1 user experience. To ensure this, operating system updates will be made available for regular download. In regards to Android 13, this will be launching for Phone 1 users in the first half of 2023. Before releasing, we want to fine-tune the software upgrade with Nothing’s hardware. We will be sure to keep you updated with further information."
It should be noted that Nothing has promised three years of software updates for the Phone 1. It means the smartphone will receive at least the Android 15 version. As of now, we are at least six months away from the Android 13 release for the smartphone unless and until there is a change of plan.
