Apple has confirmed that it will hold its next product launch event on September 7th. It has started sending out press invites for the event which will be the first in-person event at the theater since the pandemic began. The WWDC 2022 was also an in-person event but it took place outdoors.
The event's tagline is Far Out and the poster shows Apple's logo in a distant galaxy. There are speculations that it is a teaser for the zoom capabilities of the upcoming iPhone models. The event will kick off at 10 AM PT on September 7th. While it is an in-person event, it will also be streamed live on YouTube for those who are not invited or cannot make it to the venue.
The biggest highlight of the launch event will undoubtedly be the iPhone 14 lineup. The rumors suggest we will continue to see four different models but there will not be a Mini this time. Apple is said to have ditched the smallest variant and replaced it with a new offering called iPhone 14 Max. It will be a variant similar to the standard iPhone 14 but with a bigger 6.7-inch display. It will be the first time we will see a big display on a non-Pro iPhone variant.
The new iPhones are said to have a punch-hole for the selfie camera and a pill-shaped cutout for Face ID sensors. There will be a new A16 Bionic chipset but rumors claim it will be exclusive to Pro models. The Pro variants are further said to get a 48-megapixel camera sensor which will be another first for iPhones. All in all, it is the Pro models that will get the majority of the improvements.
The second attraction of the event will be the Apple Watch Series 8. The rumor mill suggests we will get to see three different variants this year. Two of these will be your usual Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE upgrade models. The third one will be the newest member which will essentially be a Pro model for the smartwatch. It will bring a major redesign and will be a rugged variant.
