Asus has launched a new ARM-based convertible named ExpertBook B3 Detachable. It is claimed to be the "first Windows laptop powered by Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 Compute Platform with a garaged stylus”. The name makes it clear that the laptop can be used with or without a physical keyboard, as per users' needs and preferences.
The ExpertBook B3 Detachable sports a 10.5-inch display with 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. It supports 121% sRGB color gamut, LED-backlit, and 320 nits of brightness. Under the hood, it has Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor with Adreno 618 GPU. It will be available with 4GB and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM options along with 128GB eMMC storage.
Its connectivity options include a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi 5, and Bluetooth 5.1. The bundled keyboard with the device has key travel of 1.5mm. There is a 13-megapixel single camera on the back and a 5-megapixel single camera on the front. There is a 35Wh battery with a USB Type-C port for charging and a 45W AC adapter.
The convertible is MIL-STD-810H certified for ruggedness. It comes with a kickstand case that can be used for using the convertible in landscape and portrait orientations. There is a stylus that is sold separately and can be carried alongside the convertible. It will boot Windows 11 operating system out of the box. Asus has priced the ExpertBook B3 Detachable at $600 for the base model. It can be purchased via Best Buy in the United States.
