Honor has unveiled a new X-series smartphone Honor X40 in China. It is an upper mid-range phone and is quite similar to the Honor X40i that arrive a couple of months ago. It is a 5G capable smartphone and comes with a Matrix AI Vision camera. There is a high refresh rate display and support for virtual RAM.
The Honor X40i sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (2388 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED curved display with a centered punch-hole. The panel offers up to 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 800 nits. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor coupled with up to 12GB of RAM. It also has virtual RAM support where up to 7GB of storage can be utilized as virtual RAM. The storage options are available up to 256GB and support for microSD cards.
The phone has dual rear cameras featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth camera with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. The whole package is powered by a 5,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. The phone will boot Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12 out of the box.
Honor has priced the Honor X40 at CNY 1,499 (about $238) for the 6GB/128GB base model. It will cost you CNY 1,699 (about $242) for the 8GB/128GB variant, CNY 1,999 (about $285) for the 8GB/256GB model, and CNY 2,299 (about $328) for the 12GB/256GB model. The color options for the smartphone include Moon, Magic Night Black, and Mo Yuqing.
