It was last year when Netflix decided to offer mobile games directly through the main app. It was meant to give users another reason, apart from TV shows and movies, to stay on the app. It started off with a handful of titles but has been adding more of them and even new features through consistent development. It is finally adding support for game handles which is an integral part of both single and multiplayer games.
Game handles are unique usernames that allow players to interact with other players without revealing their real identities. These appear on leaderboards and let people add each other to their friends' lists. This is exactly how Netflix Games' game handles will work once they appear for every user. The newly added feature is available for both Android and iOS.
Netflix users on iOS will have to download either Rival Pirates or Lucky Luna game titles to get an option. They will receive a prompt asking them to choose a game handle after launching these titles. As for Android, players will need to navigate to the Games tab and look for the Create your Netflix game handle banner. Tap on it to set your preferred game handle.
It should be noted that game handles are currently supported by only a few titles. These include Into The Breach, Bowling Ballers, Mahjong Solitaire, Heads Up! Netflix Edition, and Wild Things: Animal Adventures. We can expect the support to expand to other titles but there is no specific timeline for that yet.
