Redmi has debuted a new budget smartphone Redmi A1+ aka Redmi A1 Plus in India. It is packed with entry-level specifications and features that make it value for money for budget buyers. The good thing is that the company has not ditched the fingerprint scanner on the smartphone. It is an enhanced version of the Redmi A1 that arrived a few months ago.
The Redmi A1 Plus sports a 6.52-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) notched display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It also has the Night Light mode support. Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Helio A22 processor coupled with 2GB and 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of onboard storage available with both configuration variants. It supports microSD cards up to 1TB for storage expansion.
The phone has an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Both cameras are capable of shooting videos up to 1080p at 30fps. The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. It has a fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microUSB port. The phone will boot Android 12 (Go edition) out of the box.
The Redmi A1+ is priced at INR 6,999 for the base 2GB/32GB model. Its 3GB/32GB variant will cost INR 7,999. The phone is available in Light Blue, Light Green, and Black color options. It will go on sale starting October 17th via online and offline channels.
