Discord has announced a new feature called Activities to give its users more ways to spend fun and quality time with their friends on servers. It marks the introduction of native YouTube integration, a much-requested feature on the app. It has also taken the opportunity to release a new cheaper subscription plan called Nitro Basic.

Discord Activities will be available when you will be on a voice chat with your friends. You will see a new Green-colored button with a rocket ship icon next to the video and screen share options. Tapping the button will give you a list of all the activities that you can play. You can then invite your friends to join in and if one of your friends is already in an activity, you can join them as well.

Putt Party and Watch Together are two activities that will be available for everyone. The first one is a casual game of mini-golf that you can enjoy with friends. The next one is all about watching YouTube videos together directly on the app. It will prevent you and your friends from the hassle of syncing pressing the play/pause button together.

There are seven more activities that are exclusive to Nitro subscribers. These are Poker Night, Sketch Heads, Chess in the Park, Checkers in the Park, Land-io, Letter League, and Blazing 8s. It should be noted that a Nitro subscription is needed only for starting these activities. You do not need it for joining an activity that has already been started.

Next up, Discord has announced Nitro Basic subscription that will offer some of the Nitro features for a cheaper price. It will cost you $2.99 per month once it launches globally on October 20th. You will be able to use custom emojis and stickers anywhere you want, share files up to 50MB, get a Nitro badge next to your profile, and use custom video backgrounds.
