Vivo has announced its newest Android custom skin iteration Funtouch OS 13 for the global audience. It is based on Android 13 which is the latest Android version. It is packed with features related to visual improvements and functionality upgrades. There is also a focus on privacy and security aspects to make users feel safe and secure.
The monochrome icon will let users change the app icons' color to match their wallpaper, system, and app interfaces. It can also take colors from wallpapers and themes to make the system's UI, in-built apps, notification panel, volume controls, clock, and calculator follow the same appearance.
Users will be able to pin apps so that when they give their phone to someone else, they will not be able to use any app except for the pinned one. This is to ensure others do not start snooping around your device when you want them to use a particular app. You can now hide photos and videos natively on Funtouch OS. As for app permissions, you can decide whether an app should access all your photos or only specific ones.
Funtouch OS 13 brings a new manager application called iManager. It will specifically allow users to manage CPU usage by checking which apps are using CPU and in what proportion. It can also reduce the number of active apps and adjust CPU frequency to prevent overheating. The Weather app has been updated to show the AQI card including a detailed PM2.5 index. In the camera viewfinder, there is a new stabilization ring to help users mitigate the effects of shaky hands.
The Vivo X80 Pro flagship is the first smartphone to receive Funtouch OS 13 beta. It will gradually expand to other Vivo and iQOO smartphones by the first half of 2023. You can check the detailed release timeline below.
