Elon Musk has reportedly decided to hold off on Twitter Blue verification until impersonations are reduced significantly. The Verge claims to have seen a recording of remarks shared with employees. He was initially planning for a re-launch on November 29th which is still possible but is set in stone anymore.
He went on to tweet about the new decision where he mentioned, "Holding off relaunch of Blue Verified until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation." This makes sense as a number of troll accounts popped up right after Musk allowed anyone to have the verified tick by simply subscribing to Twitter Blue. It is something that was speculated even before the implementation and Musk was also warned about but he still decided to proceed.

Will probably use different color check for organizations than individuals.
The company is also working on finding the best possible way to differentiate between actual notable accounts and the ones that paid to get the verified tick. It recently introduced a new "Official" tag for the users who are already verified and did not have to subscribe to get the tick. Musk has said they are also considering the idea of having different colored checkmarks for organizations and individuals.
There is no doubt that Musk's journey as a Twitter owner and CEO has been full of chaos, the majority of it because of himself. He has even laid off the majority of the employees in his stint so far. Although, he did mention that layoffs are complete and the company is now looking to hire. We will have to wait and see what other significant changes will be coming to the platform.
