Honor has launched its newest foldable smartphone Magic Vs in China. This is the second foldable of the year from the company as it released Magic V in January 2022. The latest offering is said to have a lighter design with the introduction of an improved hinge design. One important thing to note is that this foldable will not be exclusive to China and will arrive in global markets.
The Magic Vs sports a 7.9-inch main OLED display with a 2272 x 1984 pixels resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The external display on the phone is 6.45 inches OLED panel with 2560 x 1080 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. The choice of processor is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with Adreno 730 GPU. There are multiple configurations with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of onboard storage.
There is a triple camera setup featuring a 54-megapixel Sony IMX800 camera with f/1.9 aperture, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with f/2.0 aperture, and an 8-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.45 aperture.
The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 66W SuperCharge fast charging. The phone will boot MagicOS 7.0 based on Android 12 out of the box. The Magic Vs is priced at CNY 7,499 (about $1,047) for the 8GB/256GB variant. The 12GB/256GB variant will cost CNY 7,999 (about $1,117) and 12GB/512GB will cost CNY 8,999 (about $1,257). It will be sold in Cyan, Black, and Orange color options.
