It seems like the wait for the Nothing Phone 1 Android 13 update is getting closer to an end. This is based on a teaser shared by none other than Carl Pei, founder and CEO of Nothing. He shared the teaser through Twitter where he posted a screenshot of the phone running the latest Android version.
The screenshot is of the Nothing Phone 1's About Phone section. It shows the phone is running Nothing OS 1.5.0 based on Android 13 which is the newest version of Android. It appears to be an internal beta build of the new software experience that will be coming to all the devices in the future.
Pei did not go into details about what new features to expect or when can users be a part of the public beta. He simply added that the beta build will be made available soon. Nothing is likely to offer a registration form for users to submit an application and try their luck at becoming one of the public beta testers. This is the approach followed by most OEMs.
The company previously revealed plans for releasing the Android 13 upgrade in early 2023. Since the team has begun internal testing and will start public beta testing in the coming weeks, it appears to be on the right track to fulfill the promised timeline. Pei has assured that internal beta builds have been performing quite well.
