Motorola has unveiled two new smartphones in China: Moto X40 and Moto G53 5G. The X-series model is a flagship device with high-end specifications and features. As for the G-series offering, it is a budget smartphone with 5G connectivity. Both phones are official in China but no details have been shared about the global release yet.
The Moto X40 sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) OLED punch-hole display with a 165Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It has a 10-bit panel with HDR10+ support and DC dimming. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and Adreno 740 GPU. The RAM options are 8GB and 12GB but in the storage space department, you can choose from 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
The triple rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 12-megapixel depth sensor with 2x optical zoom. The front camera is a 60-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calls. The battery capacity is 4,600mAh with 125W TurboPower fast charging support. It is further compatible with 15W wireless charging and 15W reverse wireless charging.
The phone will boot MyUI 5.0 based on Android 13 out of the box. It does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack but you get an IP68 rating and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It will be sold in Black and Blue color options.

The Moto G53 5G is essentially a budget phone but has 5G as its differentiating feature from the competition. The phone has a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The choice of processor is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 480+ and coupled with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. The storage options are up to 128GB with microSD card support of up to 1TB.
The dual camera setup features a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The phone has an 8-megapixel front camera for taking selfies and video calls. The battery capacity is 5,000mAh along with 18W fast charging support. There is an IP52 rating and a USB Type-C port. The phone will boot MyUI 5.0 based on Android 13.
