Telegram is once again here with an update packed with new features that make it an even better instant messenger. The team has now added the ability to mark media files with a spoiler effect. Other new features include more storage savings, new tools for drawing, and suggested profile pictures.
The latest update allows Telegram users to mark media files with a blur effect. This is to prevent the situation where users do not want the recipient to view the image or video right away. The recipient will need to tap on the media file once and then they will be able to see the content. A user needs to tap the three-dot icon after selecting the media file(s) to share and then choosing the option Hide with Spoiler.
The app's in-built media editor has been improved with new drawing tools. Its tools can now change width dynamically based on drawing speed. It has a blur tool for hiding any sensitive information or anything that you want to hide. There are 5 high-precision ways to choose colors including the Eyedropper tool and text adjustment settings.
Telegram is making it easier to save storage space on your device as you keep using the app. You can now add separate auto-remove settings for cached media from Private Chats, Groups, and Channels. There is a new pie chart view to give you an overview of what is taking up how much space. You can then tap on the particular sector to delete files and save storage space. If you decide to delete media files, those can be re-downloaded anytime from the company's servers.
The update now lets you assign a profile picture to contacts which will be visible only to you. It also has an option for you to suggest profile pictures to contacts. Lastly, you can now assign two profile pictures to your account. One of them will be visible only to your friends and the other one to everyone else. This way, you can be assured only your friends will be able to see your real photo.
