It is the year when we will see Apple launch the new iPhone 15 series. There have been numerous rumors suggesting what to expect from the new models and now, we have a fresh leak detailing the new upgrades. Analyst Jeff Pu is the source behind the new leak who also shared details about the new Apple Watch Ultra and AirPods Lite.
Pu claims Apple will bring major upgrades to both iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. The first major change is both iPhone 15 models are said to get a three-stacked sensor with a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens. It is expected to be an improvement over the 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor Apple has been using for non-Pro models. The lineup will still not get a telephoto sensor for optical zoom or a LiDAR scanner.
Both these models are said to be powered by the Apple A16 Bionic processor, the same one that currently powers iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The Lightning jack on these models will be replaced with a USB Type-C port. This is something many iPhone users have been asking for a very long time. There have also been rumors of Dynamic Island making its way to Pro models this year.
As for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra), Apple has a different set of upgrades lined up for these models to ensure that they are able to justify the price gap. The Pro models are said to get a 12-megapixel periscope lens for even better zoom capabilities. It is tipped to offer up to 6x optical zoom which will be in addition to the existing telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The models are further expected to have titanium frames instead of stainless steel, 8GB RAM, an A17 Bionic chipset, and a USB Type-C port.
