Oppo has launched a new A-series smartphone Oppo A56s 5G in China. It is a budget smartphone with features like a high refresh rate panel, 5G connectivity, and a big battery. The phone is currently exclusive to the Chinese market and its global release plans are currently unknown.
The Oppo A56s 5G sports a 6.56-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) LCD display with a dew-drop notch. The panel offers a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G processor with Mali G57 MC2 GPU. The phone has multiple configurations up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage.
There is a dual-camera module featuring a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera on the phone is an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture housed inside the notch. The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging speeds. It will run ColorOS UI 12 based on Android 12 out of the box. Other noteworthy features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5, and 5G connectivity.
The Oppo A56s 5G is priced at CNY 1,099 (about $162) for the 8GB/128GB configuration. The 8GB/256GB variant is priced at CNY 1,299 (about $192). The color options are Black and Blue.
