When Nothing launched its first smartphone Nothing Phone 1 last year, it excluded the United States from launch markets due to incompatibility with U.S. carriers. Carl Pei, the founder of Nothing, assured last month that the phone would arrive in the country soon enough. The wait is finally over as the company has introduced Nothing Beta Membership in the U.S.
This new membership will give American users an opportunity to get their hands on the Nothing Phone 1 running Android 13. It is priced at $299 and selected users will get the 8GB/128GB variant of the phone in Black color. The exact number of slots available in the membership has not been revealed. This is why we would recommend you become a member sooner than later.
All selected members will also receive a Community Black Dot NFT of a video. The clip shows a black bot bouncing inside a transparent cube. It will further offer inside access to the "Nothing brand, new products, offers" and more. All users will get to keep the device even after June 30th, 2023 which is when the beta membership expires.
The only thing to keep in mind is that Nothing Phone 1 may not support all 5G bands of your carrier. It is reported that AT&T does not support 5G, VoLTE, and VoWiFi on smartphones. 5G and CDMA networks are incompatible with Verizon as well. As for T-Mobile, some of the 5G bands will work with the device.
