Huawei is reportedly set to become the first Android OEM to mimic Apple's Dynamic Island functionality. The report is coming from Huawei Central, an online publication, citing sourced information. It claims we will see the Nova 11 series will launch with a feature similar to Dynamic Island but an exact release timeline is unknown.
We have seen Huawei launch smartphones with punch-holes and even pill-shaped camera cutouts. The only difference is it has been on the top left side so far. With Dynamic Island-like functionality, it will now be present in the top center of the Nova 11 series smartphones. This is exactly where Apple placed it on the iPhone 14 Pro series when it announced it last year.
Unfortunately, the report does not offer details about exactly how Huawei's take on Dynamic Island would work and what kind of features it will offer. It is unknown how similar and different it would be from what Apple has done. It is believed that since Nova 11 series will run the custom HarmonyOS, it would be able to offer deep integration between the two.
There are also rumors that we will see the XMAGE camera system with the Nova 11 series. It is expected to deliver an improved smartphone photography experience but the exact improvements are unknown. This is pretty much what we know about this upcoming lineup so far. We will keep you posted as more details will emerge.
