Poco has launched Poco C55 as its newest entry-level smartphone in the Indian market. It is the latest member of the C-series which is quite popular among budget buyers. The company is touting it as the best-performing smartphone in its price segment by showing off benchmark scores. There is virtual RAM expansion, a 50-megapixel camera, a fingerprint scanner, and a big battery.
The Poco C55 sports a 6.71-inch HD+ (1650 x 720 pixels) notched display with Panda Glass protection. The panel has a standard 60Hz refresh rate and 120Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, it has an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor with ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU. There are a couple of configurations: 4GB RAM with 64GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB onboard storage. It has virtual RAM support (up to 5GB) where users can have a total RAM capacity of up to 11GB.
The back panel has dual cameras featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is a 5-megapixel sensor for taking selfies. The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging speed.
The phone will boot MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. Other noteworthy features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint scanner, IP52 rating for dust/splash resistance, Bluetooth 5.1, and WiFi. The Poco C55 is priced at INR 9,499 for the 4GB/64GB variant and at INR 10,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant. The phone will be sold in Cool Blue, Forset Green, and Power Black color options.
