We know that OnePlus is set to become the latest company to enter the foldable smartphone market. The official acknowledgment came earlier this month at the event where it launched the OnePlus 11 5G. It confirmed the foldable will arrive during the third quarter of the year. And now, we have a fresh leak sharing more details about the launch plans.
The leak is coming from a Weibo-based tipster Digital Chat Station which claims OnePlus' foldable will not be a rebranded Oppo Find N2 as reported by others in the past. The tip mentions the first foldable from OnePlus will have a display with a 2K resolution. It is the phone which is rumored to go official as OnePlus V Fold.
The phone will compete directly with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the market. The newly rumored 2K resolution suggests OnePlus' offering will look somewhat similar to Samsung's release. This is what has led to speculations that we may not see a complete rebranding of the Find N2 as a OnePlus foldable.
The leak goes on to claim OnePlus will debut its first foldable in Q3 2023. This is the same timeline OnePlus has officially teased itself. It means we can expect the launch event to take place sometime around July 2023. We will keep you posted as more details will emerge about the design, specifications, features, and pricing.
