When Apple introduced Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro models last year, everyone knew it was only a matter of time before Android OEMs cloned it for their devices. Realme is preparing to release its take on Dynamic Island called Mini Capsule. Tipster @OnLeaks has shared the leak in collaboration with SmartPrix, an online publication.
As per the leak, Realme's Mini Capsule looks similar to Apple's Dynamic Island. This is not surprising as the feature is supposed to be a clone of the latter. It is showing SuperVOOC branding on the left which is likely to alert the user that the phone is getting charged at the supported SuperVOOC speed. One can see the battery level on the right side for a quick check.
Madhav Sheth, vice president of Realme, also tweeted a photo of the feature with the caption, "Loving the really cool #realmeMiniCapsule feature on our upcoming C-series smartphone". He went on to delete the tweet soon after suggesting that he may have jumped the gun. Nevertheless, it does confirm the existence and imminent release of the feature,
One important difference is that while Apple opted for a pill-shaped cutout for Dynamic Island, Realme is continuing with a punch-hole for Mini Capsule. The leak does not mention what other functionalities will be there apart from charging details. It would not make much sense if the feature showed nothing apart from charging details.
Realme is not the only Android OEM working on a Dynamic Island clone. Huawei's Nova 11 series is also reported to come with a similar feature. It will offer a pill-shaped cutout in the center but the exact functionality of the feature is unknown. We will have to wait before we can get an idea what these feature clones will be capable of.
