Teco is the latest entrant in the foldable market with the release of Phantom V Fold. The Chinese smartphone maker showcased the new foldable at MWC 2023 in Barcelona. The phone will instantly remind you of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 in terms of design but costs almost half. It will launch first in India followed by other markets around the globe.

The Phantom V Fold sports a 7.65-inch 2K+ (2296 x 2000 pixels) LTPO AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. On the outside, you will get a 6.42-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2550 pixels) LTPO AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. There is no compromise on display panels regardless of using the device folded or unfolded.

Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor with Mali-G710 MC10 GPU. There are two configurations: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage. Tecno says the foldable has an aerospace-grade "innovative hinge" which is virtually seamless and crease-free. It is claimed to have been tested for over 200,000 folds.

The foldable has a triple camera setup headlined by a 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch sensor with f/1.8 aperture. It is accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom. There is a 32-megapixel selfie shooter on the outside and a 16-megapixel selfie shooter on the inside.

The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The foldable has a USB Type-C port, in-display fingerprint scanner, and stereo speakers, and it will boot HiOS 13 Fold based on Android 13. Tecno has priced the Phantom V Fold at INR 89,999 ($1,099) for the 12GB/256GB variant and at INR 99,999 ($1,222) for the 12GB/512GB variant. It is available in Black and White color options with sales beginning in Q1 2023.
