It is official. YouTube TV has received a price hike as it now costs $73 per month going forward. The announcement was made by the service's official Twitter account. This is the first price bump for the live TV streaming service since 2020 when it was set at $65 per month. It means the company has added an $8 bump in the monthly fee.

The tweet mentions an increase in content cost as a reason behind the price hike. It says it had to do boost the price to maintain the quality of the service. The latest pricing is already effective for new subscribers but if you are an existing user, your plan will see the increased pricing from April 18th. One good news for users is YouTube TV has reduced 4K add-on pricing which will now cost $10 per month instead of the usual $20 per month.

The latest price bump means YouTube TV now costs double what it was priced at during the launch in 2017. Its original pricing was $35 per month which was significantly cheaper than the traditional cable TV pricing. These consistent price increase from the company has led it to the mark where it is set to cost similar to the industry it wanted to compete with.

However, you still get some extra benefits over traditional cable TV. YouTube TV subscription offers DVR support with unlimited storage and streaming support on up to three devices at the same time. It even lets you share the account with up to five family members which make it cheaper when you split the cost with others.
