Google is reported to have a secretive community of select Pixel users called Pixel Superfans. We first heard about it in 2019 but it could be in existence even before that. A new 9to5Google report has revealed that Google has started inviting new members for the Pixel Superfans community through emails.
The invite email has been sent using the same email address that Google uses to notify users about new products and quarterly feature drops. This particular email talks about the special benefits of becoming a Pixel Superfan. It mentions access to special Google events along with other perks including exclusive Q&A sessions for providing direct feedback to developers.
However, it is not like everyone who will receive the email is guaranteed a slot in the community. The mail is linked to a survey that the user needs to fill and answer a few questions. The exact selection criteria are unknown but it is safe to assume that selected users will receive another email notifying them about the same.
In other news, Google is preparing for the launch of next-gen Pixel 6 smartphones. There will be two models named Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 XL or Pixel 6 Pro. The name of the elder sibling is still in confusion among tipsters. These will be packed with flagship specs like OLED display, dual rear cameras, and Android 12 with five years of software support.
