OnePlus 3 and 3T receive OxygenOS 5.0.5 update

25 August 2018 2

OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones have started gaining the OxygenOS 5.0.5. The update doesn't bring anything major but does include the general bug fixes and improvements. Nothing else has been reported yet about this update.

This is an incremental update, so it will take time to reach every OnePlus 3 and 3T device. Firstly some limited users will gain the OxygenOS 5.0.5 OTA update and the company will then do a broader rollout in a few days.

The last OxygenOS update brought the July Security patch to the devices but the latest update doesn’t include the latest security patch.

The size of the latest update of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T is 38MB.

In related news, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T devices will receive the Android 9 Pie update. The company has come to a decision that it will focus its development resources on the Android P project instead of upgrading the device to Android 8.1. The Android P update will be delivered to the users in order, which means OnePlus 6 will receive it first, followed by OnePlus 5 series and then the OnePlus 3 and 3T will get it.
