OnePlus 6 gets Android Pie based OxygenOS 9.0

OnePlus is pushing out Android 9 Pie update to its latest flagship model the OnePlus 6 on the stable channel. The update will bring the latest UI changes, battery improvements, as well as some other OxygenOS stuff including accent color customization and Gaming Mode 3.0 to the OnePlus 6. The update weighs 1.5GB and brings the September security patch with it. You can manually check for the update by going to Settings > System Updates > Check for updates.

The OnePlus 6 OxygenOS 9.0 update includes:

  • Updated system to Android 9.0 Pie
    • Brand new UI for Android Pie
    • New adaptive battery support
    • New Android Pie gesture navigation
    • Updated Android security patch to 2018.9
    • Other new features and system improvements
  • Do Not Disturb mode
    • New Do Not Disturb (DND) mode with adjustable settings
  • New Gaming mode 3.0
    • Added text notification mode
    • Added notification for 3rd party calls
  • Accent colour
    • Supported accent colour customization

OnePlus has stated that going forward all the software updates will match the Android version number. OnePlus is rolling out the software update in stages, and some users have already received the update. You can also pull the OTA manually via the Oxygen Updater.
