Sony has also released the Android Pie update to Xperia XZ2 Compact smartphone. The Android Pie update also brings design changes to quick settings, notifications, and media controls, and it also includes Sony’s new camera application. The software upgrade also installs the October 2018 Android Security patch, which resolves up to 26 different vulnerabilities.

Recently the Japanese giant Sony confirmed they will soon start rolling the latest Android Pie update for a number of phones in the next few months. At the moment the Xperia XZ3 is the company's only flagship phone running on the Android Pie straight out of the box. It was expected that Sony will initially roll out the update for the latest Xperia XZ2 Premium but it seems like Sony wants to roll out an update for the Xperia XZ2.
As per latest info, Sony kicks off the Android Pie roll out for the Xperia XZ2. The update weighs 1GB and comes with the latest October security patch. Unfortunately, the changelog didn't reveal any new goodies Sony is rolling with the new update. However, you can expect all the new features of the latest Pie flavor.
The latest update brings the firmware version to 52.0.A.3.27. If you haven't received the update notification yet, make sure you keep a close eye on the notification or you can check out manually by going into settings menu >> About device >> software update.
