OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T have started receiving OxygenOS Open Beta 20 and the Open Beta 18. The updates bring a new gesture support so as to ease the access of the Gallery. There’s only one gesture introduced and it’s the support to close the picture by sliding down in the Gallery app.
Next up are the changes made to the Community app; these are new feed, more options to share threads, community notices as a feature. Other changes included in this area are general user interface tweaks and bug fixes. Also, the developers have set the application up so that stickied comments are displayed in the application.
It should be noted that the Open Beta 20 for the OnePlus 5 and Open Beta 18 for the OnePlus 5T don’t bring the October Security patch. The last updated security patch is of September.
Here’s the complete changelog of the latest open betas –
- Supported new gesture to close picture by sliding down in Gallery app
- Community notices added as a feature
- New feed for following community members
- Added more options to share threads
- Stickied comments displayed on the app
- General user interface tweaks and bug fixes
These are the beta updates which mean they may contain some bugs but you can always report them to the company. These builds aren’t stable as the official OTAs and include some potential risks.
If you’re running the open beta on your OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T then you’ll see this update as a traditional OTA update.
