Just a couple of days earlier Xiaomi was looking for beta testers to test out Android 9 build for its Mi A2 smartphone and now the company has released the official firmware in India. The phone runs on Android One program from Google for mid-budget segment devices. It can be considered almost stock Android and lets brands push in faster firmware updates. Though Android 9 Pie has been out or sometime now, however, looking at Xiaomi’s record of pushing Android One updates for Mi A1, this rollout can be considered an achievement.
Talking about the Mi A2, it is one of the best Android One devices at the moment and was released in China in the month of July and was subsequently launched in India in August. This 1GB update brings in features like Adaptive battery and brightness, Gesture control, App Actions basis the users' actions apart from other key features of Android 9 Pie.
Since this is an official OTA release it is being rolled out in a phased manner starting with India. Users in other countries may as well get the update soon. Given that Mi A2 is getting the update, Mi A2 Lite may be getting the taste of Android 9 Pie pretty soon.
