Sony seeded its July set of Android security patches for its Xperia X last month a day after it released the July batch of security updates for its other devices which included the Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ. While the Xperia X was pushed the Android 7.1.1 update a couple of months ago which brought in the June security patches, the same set of patches were accordingly pushed in another update towards the Xperia XZ and X Performance much earlier.
The three Xperia X devices are now being seeded with the latest August 1, 2017, Android Security patch which brings Google’s latest fixes towards bugs and vulnerabilities and Sony’s own set of solutions bundled with the same. The update brings the Xperia X firmware to carry the build 34.3.A.0.217 while we expect the X Compact to see a similar update soon.
The Xperia XZ and the X Performance which released around the same time see their firmware build shift to version 41.2.A.7.53, though there’s nothing much we actually know about the changes in this update. The Xperia XZs is also expected to be sent an update anytime soon since these devices run close to each other on the software front.
