Logitech's new SmartDock Flex gadget makes cable management easier

07 February 2018 2

Tired of going through the hassle of dealing with too many cables while you're quickly trying to set up a conference call? The Logitech SmartDock platform is the perfect gadget for your office conference room. Announced originally in 2016, the Logitech SmartDock aimed to revolutionize Skype for Business meetings. A year later, a new SmartDock accessory was announced for making cable management easier.

Today, the accessory has finally arrived, and it is called the SmartDock Flex.

It is a gadget that attaches to the bottom of the original SmartDock, with just two cables coming out of it. One is HDMI and the other is a CAT6. The CAT6 can run audio, video, data and even power through it, whereas the HDMI is only for someone joining the meeting to connect up their laptop quickly.

The box can fit comfortably behind a monitor, leaving your conference room aesthetics in place.

The SmartDock Flex is priced at $799, and will be available from March.
