Next up is ‘Smart Compose’ in Gmail, a new feature powered by Artificial Intelligence. It drafts emails quickly for you so that you don’t have to type much. The Smart Compose feature takes the Smart Reply feature to a new level where it completes the sentences in your emails so that you can draft them with ease. Smart Compose will offer suggestions as you type. So, whenever you see a suggestion that you like, just click the ‘tab” button to use it.
This naturally saves your time and also reduces the chances of spelling and grammatical errors. It can even suggest relevant contextual phrases. For example, if it’s Friday it may suggest “Have a great weekend!” as a closing phrase.
Smart Compose will appear in the new Gmail for consumers and available for G Suite customers in the workspace in the coming months. To get this feature, you have to be on the new Gmail.
Google News gets the biggest change and this is the inclusion of AI. Google explains that new sources are constantly emerging and it becomes difficult to hear everyone. There’s more great journalism and more content to discover. So, Google has announced the new Google news that uses AI to find the best of human intelligence. It organizes the news using the real-time AI/ML.
The new app could help the readers to find the reliable information more easily and help in cutting down on misinformation spreading through Google.
With the help of a new set of AI techniques, Google News analyzes the constant flow of information in real time and organizes it into storylines.
This approach means Google News understands the people, places, and things involved in a story as it evolves, and connects how they relate to one another. Google News now basically works on personalization.
Google is also experimenting with a unique visual format called newscasts.
The new service will start rolling out on Google's Android, Apple's iOS and the web starting today and become available in 127 countries by next week.
